The public is invited to shop through more than 75,000 items in the York Expo Center’s 17,000 sq. ft. Old Main building. Many local families have come to rely on WeeUsables as a place to find necessities for their children, often finding piles of bargains. WeeUsables will help 300 local, parent consignors who will be selling their children’s clothes, toys, books, strollers, highchairs, video games and so much more. All items are pre-priced, tagged and organized by category, gender and size. More than 2,000 attended the Spring 2015 WeeUsables event, and even more are expected this fall.
WeeUsables maintains very high standards to ensure that shoppers are pleased with the selection of merchandise and that children are safe. No stained, torn, broken, or items with missing pieces may be sold. In addition, consignors must check the Consumer Products Safety Commission website to ensure that none of their items have been recalled.
WeeUsables consignors register months before the event and use an online tagging system to price everything they want to sell, from clothing and shoes to toys, games, and baby gear. They print and attach the price tags to all their items, then drop them off at the Expo Center, before the sale is open to shoppers. Consignors can choose to pick up their unsold items at the end of the event or have them included in the Stuff-a-Bag fundraiser. WeeUsables is the only consignment outlet that provides the opportunity for consigners to earn up to 100% of their sales.
“Our consigners consistently provide quality used goods for our shoppers, and we thank them by providing consigners the opportunity to earn 100% of their sales,” states Lori Hartmann, WeeUsables owner.
WeeUsables is committed not only to easing the financial burden of parents, but also to giving back to the community. The WeeUsables’ Stuff-A-Bag fundraiser, held at the conclusion of the event, has raised nearly $38,000 for local charities over the past five years. Hartmann has arranged for all the proceeds from the Stuff-a-Bag portion of this upcoming event to go to Central Pennsylvania Food Bank
“We are thrilled to support an organization that directly helps families in need in Central Pennsylvania,” states Hartmann.
