The Emigsville Band is excited to invite the entire York, PA and surrounding communities to the first annual York County Community Band Festival! This FREE event is being hosted at Zion Lutheran Church July 28 from 2pm to 5pm and will include a 3-hour concert featuring 4 of York County's community bands:

• The Emigsville Band (host band)
• Brodbeck's Band
• Red Lion-Felton Band
• Twin Roses Community Band

What is a community band?

A community band is defined as a concert band made up of amateur, non-paid, volunteer musicians from a local area. What makes a community band special is the idea that all musicians are welcomed to play, regardless of musical ability, age, or background. The strength of a small community has traditionally been defined by the quality and size of its eponymous community band.

York County is rich in musical history. During the 20th century, nearly every township, borough, and community had its own town band. As time has passed, only a few have stood the test of time in York.

Join us for an historical celebration of York County musical culture with live, family-friendly musical entertainment, food trucks, and more! At the end of the event, all four bands will combine for a special performance celebrating our camaraderie and enduring power of music and community.
