York Celebrates Loretta Claiborne: Carrying the Torch for Inclusion

Join us on July 7th in downtown York as we celebrate Loretta Claiborne and the York County Special Olympics Program! 

Activities for the evening include; 

6pm Parade of Special Olympic Athletes (200 Blk S. Beaver St)

Participants are asked to line the sidewalks on both sides of the 200 block of S Beaver St to cheer during the Parade of Athletes.  A  Parade of Athletes will escort Loretta as she carries the Olympic Torch from College Ave, heading north to the school parking lot at the corner of S. Beaver St & W. Princess St.


6:05-6:30pm Presentations

William Penn HS (W. Princess St. Entrance/ Parking Lot area)

Chairs will be set up in the school district parking lot to view the presentations to Loretta. (Corner of S. Beaver & W. Princess St)


6:35-7pm Community Photo / Meet & Greet at the Penn Park Basketball Court 

Attendees are asked to join us near the basketball courts on Penn Park for a community photo with Loretta and the athletes. This will be a great time to meet and greet the athletes and to learn more about the York County Special Olympics Program.


Parking: Vehicles can be parked in the city lot across from the High School, along with on-street parking. **Please do not park in the 200 blk of S. Beaver St.**
