Are you courageous enough to saunter to the most haunted places in historic downtown York, PA? Both entertaining and informative, this walking tour explores the “shadow side” of a town that predates the founding of America.
Join “Ghostess” Rissa Miller (also the YouTube narrator for Sweet Nightmares, our online ghost stories!) for tales of lore. The tour will happen once monthly through October and guests will travel by foot from the Dark Parlour to spooky locations around downtown. Stories span from Native origins into more modern times, including ghosts, poltergeists, fortune tellers, witches, and cryptids.
All tours begin at The Dark Parlour, 118 E King St, York, PA 17401; please note this is the only restroom on the tour route. Guests ages 12 and up are welcome. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. All guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and attire for the walk. Please dress for the weather.
Our goal is to provide a fun experience to build community engagement and involvement, while sharing the true history of our dynamic town. Folklore and documented stories will blend together to paint a new picture of York, no matter how well you think you know the city!
The Dark Parlour will ALWAYS collect donations for animal rescues. Please drop off items at The Dark Parlour during any operating hours or before tours. We have previously worked with the York County SPCA, Eliannie's Animal Rescue, SAGE Dog Rescue, and MORE For Furry Friends.
Ghost tours are $25 per ticket and there are no discounts at this time.
Weather policy: Weather would only shut tours down if York City shuts down due to weather emergency. We will go on in RAIN. Only in the event of lightning, hail, or flooding in York City, will we cancel the walks. There is no refund for RAIN. If there is lightning, hail , or flooding forecast in York City, the walks will be cancelled and your ticket will be refunded; please check your email associated with Eventbrite. If it rains, please grab your raincoat and come on out for some spooky fun; ghosts don't mind the rain, after all. Additionally, walks will go on if it's warm/humid, foggy, drizzling, or light flurries. Thank you for your attention to this!
Refund policy: Refunds for advance tickets will only be available until 72 hours (3 days) before the event. If you find you cannot make it and it's past the 72-hour deadline, please give your ticket to a friend.
Parking is on-street. Please give yourself ample time to park and walk to the meet-up spot. If you want to browse the store or use the rest room, please give yourself extra time.
No food, water or snacks are included with these tours. Please prepare properly for your snacking/water needs.
