2022 Friends of the History Center Book Blast

Join the Friends of the York County History Center for this Blast from the Past! The Friends Book Blast is one of the area’s largest used book sales, and proceeds will benefit the History Center. The event will be held at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum at 217 West Princess Street, York. The Museum will be filled with thousands of donated books in every imaginable category on sale at bargain prices. Included in Friends Book Blast this year are DVDs, CDs, cassettes and jigsaw puzzles.

For the benefit of the bibliophile or beach reader, dedicated volunteers will sort the books into categories such as antiques, art, modern fiction, classic literature, cookbooks, biography, and history. Prices will be $2.00 for a hard cover and $1.00 for a paperback.

For movie buffs, and music lovers, DVDs will be priced at $2.00, CDs and cassettes will be $1.00.

Jigsaw puzzles will be priced at $1.00.

York County History Center members receive the first opportunity to purchase books on Thursday, September 29 beginning at 4:00. All York County History Center members receive an invitation to attend this special sale. Members, be sure to stop in at the Members Only Comfort Cafe Thursday during Members only Night. Friday, September 30 the doors open to the public from 10:00 until 6:00 and the sale ends with the ever-popular Buck-a-Bag on Saturday October 1 from 10:00 – 4:00. Buck-a-Bag is just that, for just $1.00 attendees can fill their grocery bags or our provided plastic bags with the general category books.
