Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer and a time to honor the military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Here are a few family-friendly events you won't want to miss this Memorial weekend!
Flags for Heroes Dedication Ceremony
Celebrate and honor those who protect us and have made our country free by joining the Southern York County Rotary & the Lions Club as we dedicate the American flags displayed for our heroes at New Freedom Green.
Memorial Day Weekend Rides at the Northern Central Railway
Red Lion Memorial Day Parade
Red Lion’s Memorial Day Parade will start at 10:30 AM at the Red Lion Senior High School and end at Fairmount Park where there will be a Memorial Service. In case of bad weather, the service will be held at the Red Lion Community Building at 10:30.
EAST PROSPECT MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION!
Come one and all to the East Prospect Memorial Day Celebration, complete with fireworks!
The festivities begin at 4pm with a parade.

Wrightsville Memorial Day Parade
The parade will start at 1pm at the corner of Hellam St/2nd St, and continue up Hellam St ending at Fairview Cemetery just after the stop light at 6th Street. There will be a ceremony immediately to follow at the cemetery.
The Grand Marshal this year is Susan Myers. Sue owns Sue’s Market in Wrightsville and she is a huge staple in our community.
The Wrightsville American Legion is proudly sponsoring the parade.
Glen Rock
The Glen Rock Memorial Day ceremony will take place at the Immanuel Evangelical Cemetery on Church St. at 11:00 AM
York Gold Star Memorial
This 5K Run & 9 Mile Tour de Memorials offers three events to choose from on Monda May 30- a 5K running race, a non-competitive 5K walk, or 9 mile “Tour the Memorials” event where you can run, ride your bicycle, or walk and pass by every war memorial in York city.
Hanover Memorial Day Parade
Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 30th, 2022 at 8:30 am. Parade forms near Guthrie Memorial Library on Carlisle Street and proceeds through the square onto Baltimore Street, to Mount Olivet Cemetery where services will be held.
Gettysburg Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
The Gettysburg Joint Veteran Memorial Day Commission is pleased to announce the 155th Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony is being planned and will take place on Monday, May 30th, 2022 at 2pm with the Ceremony to follow at the Gettysburg National Cemetery at 3pm.
