Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer and a time to honor the military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Here are a few family-friendly events you won't want to miss this Memorial Day weekend!
Flags for Heroes & Dedication Ceremony
Celebrate and honor those who protect us and have made our country free by joining the Southern York County Rotary & the Lions Club for the Annual Flag for Heroes flags display at New Freedom Green.
Flags will be displayed May 24 – June 7, 2023
The Dedication Ceremony will be held June 3 at 10:30 am.
East Prospect Borough Memorial Day Weekend Vendor Event and Community Yard Sales
Come out for a day of shopping, eating, and enjoying our community may 27 from 7am-3pm!
Indoor/Outdoor Vendor Event will be held at the East Prospect Community Building (28 W Maple St,. East Prospect)
Community-Wide Yard Sales all day long
In addition, the East Prospect Fire Company will be having its Chicken BBQ as well!!
EAST PROSPECT MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION!
Come one and all to the East Prospect Memorial Day Celebration, Sunday, May 28 at 1pm!
The festivities begin at 1pm with food trucks, then a parade at 4pm and the day will end with fireworks at dusks.

Wrightsville Memorial Day Parade
The parade will be held May 29. Parade starts at 1 pm at the corner of Hellam St/2nd St, and will continue up Hellam St ending at Fairview Cemetery just after the stop light at 6th Street. There will be a ceremony immediately to follow at the cemetery.
Glen Rock Ceremony
The Glen Rock Memorial Day ceremony will take place on May 29, 2023 at Trinity Cemetery on Hanover Street at 11:00am.
In case of rain, the service will be at Immanuel United Methodist Church.
The public is invited to the Austin L Grove Post 403 following the service for refreshments.
York Gold Star Memorial 5K
This 5K Run & 9 Mile Tour de Memorials offers three events to choose from on Monda May 30- a 5K running race, a non-competitive 5K walk, or 9 mile “Tour the Memorials” event where you can run, ride your bicycle, or walk and pass by every war memorial in York city.
Hanover Memorial Day Parade
The Annual Memorial Parade parade will begin at 8:30 AM on Monday, May 29, 2023,
The parade will form at 7:30 AM on portions of Carlisle Street, between Chestnut Street and Library Place, continuing along Carlisle Street (route 94) through Center Square and on Baltimore Street to Mount Olivet Cemetery where a service will be held at the platform
near The Soldier's Monument.
Etters Memorial Day Parade

Dallastown Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 29, 2023 from 9am to 11:30am
The Dallastown American Legion Post 605 will host the annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade starts at 9am and begins on E Main St at Park St. It continues west on Main St to the end of town at Union Cemetary. At that time, there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring all of our soldiers.
Dillsburg Memorial Day Parde
Parade leaves VFW parking lot at 1100 and has flag raising ceremony at Dillsburg Fire station in route to Dillsburg Cemetary. There will be a Memorial Day ceremony consisting of guest speakers and songs played by the Northern High school band at the conclusion of the parade at Dillsburg Cemetery.
York County Department of Veterans Affairs Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony
Join us on Memorial Day at 11:00am at the Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden 1000 Vander Avenue, York, Pa 17403 for a solemn ceremony commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Paris Peace Accords ending the Vietnam War and the sacrifice of York County native SP4 John Wesley Dahr.
MayDaze Car Show and BBQ-Salute To Our Heroes
Deceptive Dreamz will host their 2nd annual car show this Sunday, May 28th, 11am-4pm at BAPS Motor Speedway in Dover.
There will be food trucks and vendors, a cornhole tournament, DJ, and of course judged cars from all classes, makes, and models.
Red Lion Memorial Day Parade
There will be a parade on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th starting at 10:30am at Red Lion High School. The parade route will be from Horace Mann Avenue to Main Street to West Broadway to South Franklin St to Boundary Avenue to South Charles Street to Fairview Street, ending at Fairmount Park.
The Red Lion Felton band will be playing at Fairmount Park prior to the Memorial service after the parade (approximately 11:15am).
The Splash Pad will be available after the service concludes.
Gettysburg Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
The Gettysburg Joint Veteran Memorial Day Commission is pleased to announce the 156th Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony is being planned and will take place on Monday, May 29th, 2023 at 2 pm with the Ceremony to follow at the Gettysburg National Cemetery.
Parade Route: Lefever Street in Gettysburg, heads northeast to East Middle Street, turns west on East Middle Street and south on Baltimore Street to the Soldiers’ National Cemetery.
Gettysburg Memorial Day Car Show
Join us on Monday, May 29, from 11:00 a.m until 3:00 p.m. for the Annual Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg Memorial Day Car Show!
This fun-filled event is FREE for all spectators.
Littlestown Memorial Day Parade
The Littlestown Memorial Day parade will be held Tuesday, May 30 at 6pm. Please come out along Queen St to watch and follow the parade to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery to enjoy the brief program honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. The LHS Band and local scout units will be participating as well.
