December Fun at Keystone Kidspace

It's officially December, so it's the perfect time to enjoy all the indoor fun activities Keystone Kidspace has to offer offer. Mark your calendars for these can't-miss events happening this month:


Visit Us At Bright Lights York!

We're excited to announce that we'll be the featured non-profit at Bright Nights at WellSpan Park from November 29th - December 5th. 

Come see us in person on select nights that week and enjoy some fun kids activities at our booth.

We will also be accepting donations of craft supplies.

Open Play


Saturdays 10am-5pm 

Sundays 12-4pm. 

Admission is $12 per person for a whole day of play (children 3 and under are free).

Preschool Open Play

Second Tuesdays are for our littlest fans! 

We will be open the second Tuesday of each month from 9 am -11 am for preschool-age children and their families to play! 

The building will be limited to the first floor only, and we will have special activities specifically designed for ages 2-6.

Admission is $12 per person (children 3 and under are free).

Homeschool Open Play

Second Tuesday afternoons are for homeschool children and their families! We will be open second Tuesdays from 1-3pm (October-December) for homeschool children and their families to play!

 Groups are welcome, but if you will be attending in a large group, please let us know ahead of time.

Admission is $12 per person (children 3 and under are free).

Mini Makers Holiday Market

Support Mini Makers by shopping kid-crafted holiday gift items for under $10!

Mini Makers (aged 6-18yrs) are invited to join us at Keystone Kidspace for our first ever Mini Makers Holiday Market on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 3:30 - 5:30. This market is by kids and for kids! All giftable items for sale will be handmade or created by the Mini Maker and the majority of your goods under $10.

What is a “Mini Maker”?
Creative entrepreneurs aged 6-18 years old

What will be for sale?
All items will be handmade, crafted, or created by the Mini Makers. Most items will be priced under $10.

What is “By Kids For Kids”?
All items for sale will be made by Mini Makers and will be ideal for other kids to purchase for gifts or for themselves.

This event is free and & open to the public to come and support our community of makers. There is no registration or admission required.

School's out but fun is in at Keystone Kidspace! Join us for our Extended Holiday Open Play Hours. 

Monday 12/23 from 10am-1pm

Friday 12/27 from 10am-1pm

School's Out Mini Camp: Gotta Catch Em All - Reptiles


Pokemon, the phenomenon that swept the nation in 1996, is still a familiar sight to see. These imaginary creatures are not so imaginary if you take a closer look. 

Spend the morning learning about reptiles and designing your very own set of four reptile playing cards inspired by some of our Pennsylvania scaly friends.

When: Monday, December 23, 2024 from 9am-Noon

Who: This camp is a drop-off opportunity for kids 7+ years old. Kids may bring a snack and water bottle with them.

School's Out Mini Camp: Winter Wonderland


During this TWO DAY camp we all can marvel at the magic of a snow-filled winter. We will take a close look at the beauty of the season and how animals are able to survive and thrive. Campers will learn about the adaptations that help animals survive in the winter, do icy experiments, create winter art and more.

When:  December 30th & December 31st from 9am-Noon

Who: This camp is a drop-off opportunity for kids 7+ years old. Kids may bring a snack and water bottle with them.

Fee: $65

Holiday Pop-Ups

The most wonderful time of year is upon us, and we can't wait to spread some extra cheer around our community. This season, we'll be popping up at local holiday events to mingle and share more about our mission of empowering kids through play.

Be sure to stop by and say hello at these upcoming holiday happenings:

🎄 Light Up York on Friday, December 6th from 4-9pm at 45 W Market St in downtown York. 

🎅 Merry in the Market on Saturday, December 21st from 11am-1pm at Central Market in York. .

🍪 Hot Chocolate & Cookie Stroll on Saturday, December 14th starting at 1pm in Hanover Center Square. 

We hope these holiday pop-ups will provide some extra cheer and chances to connect over the spirit of the season. Please come chat with us, learn more about our play-based programs for kids, and spread some joy this holiday season. We look forward to seeing friendly faces around town!


Noon New Year's Eve Party

Zoom into 2025 at our Noon Years Eve Party at Keystone Kidspace on Tuesday, December 31. Join us for a family friendly New Years Eve celebration, complete with Keystone Kidspace style ball drop! 

The entire building will be open from 10 am-1pm for open play with special activities throughout.

When: Tuesday, December 31 from 10am -1pm

Keystone Kidspace belongs to the Mess Makers, Tool Tinkerers, Computer Coders, Paint Pushers and Flapjack Flippers. At Keystone Kidspace, kids can have fun while learning about science, technology, engineering, art and math through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities and unique classes. 

Here’s when we’re open for families to drop-in to play and explore:

  Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  Sunday, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Please refer to our calendar for additional open drop-in hours, including select holidays, in service days and other special days.

Parking & Directions

You’ll find us at 10 East Hamilton Avenue York and easily accessible from I-83, Route 30 and the Heritage Rail Trail. Free Parking is available — with the exception that each car must have a parking tag or daily pass displayed. During York Revolution home games, members and visitors will be required to pay for parking.
