Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post. Can a test help you learn how to best lose weight, based on your genetic profile? Try Jenny Craig’s most customized plan ever and learn more about how you can best work with your body to lose weight.

After years of following every fad diet that came along, I realized I no longer understood what healthy eating was anymore. Should I cut out carbs completely? Should I remove all sugars? Should I eat one meal a day? I was confused and overwhelmed. I decided I needed to drop the fad dieting and follow a healthy meal plan, eating real foods to fuel my body appropriately, and find something that I could follow for a lifetime. So I joined Jenny Craig.

Jenny Craig understood that I just wanted to eat healthily and lose weight with no gimmick. So they tested my DNA and curated an appropriate meal plan that body and genes would best respond to, to drop the unwanted pounds. With Jenny Craig's DNA Weight Loss Kit, I found out some really insightful data to help guide me through my weight loss journey and achieve success.

For example, I have been avoiding all carbs for the better part of a decade, to find out that my body processes carbohydrates just fine. I also found out that my body responds to exercise at an enhanced rate, meaning that I will see greater results than the average person when I add exercise into my routine - which is a HUGE motivator for me to get moving. And then I confirmed a few things I already knew, like that I crave sweets at an above-average rate and that I have a low satisfaction level after consuming a meal. These results remind me to stay away from sugars and find healhty alternatives like sugar-free gelatin and to also to control my portion sizes, finish my meal and step away from the table, and stick to my meal plan.

Jenny Craig's DNA Weight Loss Kit also indicated that my body's weight loss efficiency is below average, meaning that it is a little harder for me to lose weight compared to the average person. I've known this my entire life but now having my DNA tested and confirmation printed on paper, it helps me overcome the challenge mentally.  I know I am on the right track and I just need to keep following my Jenny Craig plan.

My journey on the Jenny Craig program is just beginning. Over the next several weeks I will update you on my progress. Stay tuned, I am excited to share my success!
