One of the scariest things I have faced as a parent is giving my daughter access to the internet. I check-in, randomly read her conversations and emails, and ask her questions about her online activities but I would often wonder if I was doing enough to keep her safe in the digital space. I needed something that would go through her online chats, social media accounts, watched videos, email accounts, and searches and alert me to any concerns. That’s why I got Bark.
Bark is an amazing digital monitoring service that is my new bestie and extra set of eyes. It goes through all online and cellular activity and alerts you to any concerns in your child’s text messages, YouTube views, emails, and 24 different social networks.
So what does Bark alert you to? Bark will send you alerts via the easy to use parent app for:
- Videos watched that contain drug/alcohol-related content, violence, and sexual content
- Conversations, texts, and emails with profanity, cyberbullying concerns, depression or suicidal flags, sexual content, mentions of weapons, etc.
- Even if text messages or emails are deleted, it will still alert you and show you any deleted and flagged content in Bark.
- Bark monitors 24 different social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, VSCO, Tik Tok, and Kik.
- And so much more.
After reviewing the alerts from my daughter’s activity, I found a few questionable text messages from a kid that seemed to be a bad influence. I was able to talk to my daughter about those conversations and come up with a resolution. Had I not had Bark, I would have never known what was going on via messenger.
I love how Bark displays alerts. It shows questionable texts, messages, and emails in context by showing you a few messages before and after the flagged content. It also put the questionable material in bold so you immediately know why it was flagged. This saves me a lot of time by not having to track down her devices or scroll threw her conversations. I have my own little window into her world and can see what is going on.
If you are looking for a way to monitor your child’s messages, social media platforms, and viewed content on their cellphones, laptops, and tablets. I recommend checking out Bark!
