Annual Mother’s Day Tradition Continues with the Olde York Street Fair

The 44th Annual Olde York Street Fair will be held in downtown York, in and around Continental Square, on Sunday, May 12, 2019, from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. All are invited to attend this free event.

Approximately 100 craft vendors will feature handmade gift items for sale and several crafters will be customizing items while you shop for those who are looking for a personalized item.

Handmade items will include: aprons, balloon yo-yos, bamboo and bonsai plants, beef jerky of various flavors, birdhouses and bird feeders, bubble wands and kits, candles, Celtic designs media blasted onto all types of glassware, chalkboard frames and planters, cloth coverings, clothing, crystals, cutting boards and coasters, dip mixes and chillers, dog collars and leashes, dolls and doll clothing, embroidery art, essential oils, family trees, flip flop signs, floral arrangements, framed sports items, guitar string jewelry, gourds, gourmet dog treats, hair accessories and festival head wreaths, handbags, herbal remedies, home décor, jewelry, keychains, knitted and felted bags and accessories, license plate letter frames, mason jar art, miniature picnic table condiment holders, musical instruments, Native American items, painted rocks and piggy banks, paintings, pancake and cookie mixes from homegrown grains, plants, pot holders, pottery, repurposed silverware art, soaps and lotions, specialty pastries, sports banners, stuffed animals, solar lanterns, sun catchers, team items, wind chimes, wine and beer carriers, vintage windows, wine slush mixes, wooden signs, wreaths, wrought iron garden accessories, yard art, and more.

Food vendors will sell traditional American festival food as well as original creations. All food vendors are partnered with a non-profit organization and agree to donate a portion of their sales to that partner. Farm Show Milkshakes will be back by popular demand!

NEW this year, a snow cone vendor called You Are The Hamster, a fun human-powered frozen beverage machine.

A Kids Fun Block will feature a variety of inflatables, a petting zoo, games, face painting, spin art, sand art, and more. Entomologist Ryan Bridge (The Bug Man) will again have his vast collection on display for kids of all ages to see and touch!

A variety of live entertainment in a variety of genres and strolling performers will delight festival-goers. Sincere thanks to our entertainment sponsors, Members 1st Federal Credit Union and WellSpan Health.

Several “rest stop seating” areas will be located throughout the Street Fair, thanks to the Hahn Home Fund at the York County Community Foundation (Embracing Aging Initiative).

HACC York Campus will again provide free secure parking, and three shuttle buses will transport attendees to and from the street fair. Look for signs in lots 902 and 903 behind the Leader building on the HACC campus (2010 Pennsylvania Avenue York, PA 17404). The first bus will leave the campus at 12 noon and buses will travel back and forth continuously all day; the last bus will leave the street fair at 6:00 p.m. Sincere thanks to Green Mountain Energy for sponsoring this service.

The York County Heritage Trust’s Colonial Complex will also be open during the Olde York Street Fair. Discover the history of the building’s construction during the nation’s bicentennial (1976) and York’s important place in America’s Revolutionary period through temporary displays.

Inside the Historical Society Museum, visit the Auxiliary’s Ice Cream Parlor and treat Mom to an ice cream sundae, a root beer float, and much more on her special day. Arrive early, as some flavors sell out!
