I live in a house full of gamers and I am a mom that rarely plays video games. I mean, I'll pick up the controller if the game is awesome. Like when everything is awesome in The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame! We give it two yellow cuffed, LEGO-style, "thumbs" up because of its amazing graphics, awesome storyline, and tons of fun surprises!
I remember the first time I saw The LEGO Movie. I was hooked. It was so exciting. It was bright and colorful. The theme song was catchy and never got old. Plus, there were a ton of silly shenanigans. That is how I feel about The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame. The graphics are bright, colorful, and bold. The music and cut scenes are awesome and are based on the events from The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. You are free to build where ever you want, whatever you want, with any of the bricks you have. How do you get more bricks? By breaking stuff, of course! How fun is that? And you're doing this all with amazing graphics that truly make you feel like you are part of the movie.
The storyline of the videogame is hilarious and engaging. I won't spoil any of the plotline, just in case you have not seen the movie yet, but I will tell you that it involves alien invaders, saving friends, and tons of silliness along the way. You won't be disappointed.
I love it when a video game keeps it exciting and The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame has a lot of surprises. You can unlock and play as over 100 different characters from The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. There are fun puzzles to solve. There are tons of worlds to explore from both the first and second movie. Plus, you can enjoy more gameplay with free downloadable content that will add adventures around the movie’s biggest characters.
Another fun feature that I like about The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is that the second player (ie. me) can jump in and/or drop out at any time. So if my daughter is playing and needs help with something, I can activate the second player, assist, and leave the videogame without disrupting her progress. Or if she catches me playing without her, she can jump in alongside me. I love when games have this feature for families.
My family loves playing The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame together. It's always a hilarious adventure into the world of LEGO. If you're looking for an exciting videogame for your family, we suggest The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame! It is rated E10+ for some cartoon violence (I found it to be similar to the conflicts in the movie) and is available to purchase now at most major realtors and will release for Nintendo Switch on March 26.
