My children love heavy equipment and vehicles. Every time we drive by them along the road or at a construction site we tend to stop and watch them for a little while. They are amazed at the overall size of the equipment and the items they can lift! They were so incredibly excited when they found out that we were going to visit Diggerland in New Jersey!

Diggerland USA is the only construction-themed adventure park in the United States where you can drive, ride and operate ACTUAL machinery. The park is comprised of over 25 attractions. The majority of which are full-size pieces of construction equipment. Each machine has undergone advanced modifications to make them safe for the public. You can also climb one of the world’s tallest ropes courses, climb a rock wall, or spend time in the video arcade.

We had a really great time at Diggerland. There were enough rides there to keep the kids interested but it was small enough that we were able to get to try everything at least once. The staff members were all very friendly and personable. It was such a unique experience to be able to actually operate the real machinery. It was very hot on the day that we visited and there are no shaded areas. They do have mesh canopies in several areas as well as at the entrance to the rides. Make sure to apply sunscreen often (as you would anywhere). It took under 3 hours to get there - it is about 20 minutes away from Philadelphia.

To purchase tickets and to learn more about Diggerland, please visit the Diggerland USA website. Most of the attractions require a height of 36″ to ride on, some under the assistance of a parent or legal guardian. A few attractions require a 42″ height to participate. If your child is under 36″ they have free admission but attractions they may participate on are extremely limited (playground and arcade).

The author and her family were guests of Diggerland to facilitate this review, however, all opinions are her own.
