Planning my daughter’s birthday party is always stressful. Finding a location, trying to wrangle RSVPs, making sure we have enough food and ensuring everyone is having a good time... My daughter loves it but I am usually stressed out by the end of the party. When party planning began for this year’s birthday bash, I dreaded it. Then I had an idea, what if instead of having a party we took a mini-vacation to the largest indoor waterpark in Pennsylvania? My daughter instantly fell in love with the idea. We love Kalahari Resorts and it was the perfect reason to go back!

What would be better than a birthday filled with waterslides, lazy rivers, waterfalls, and luxurious rooms? I booked the trip online immediately and it couldn’t have been easier. It was a parenting win. It was a birthday party, birthday present and family vacation all rolled into one. I felt like a mommy genius and I couldn’t wait for our birthday adventure.

Once we got to Kalahari the staff greeted us with a warm, welcoming smile and my daughter was given a special birthday badge! We dropped our bags in our room, changed into our swimsuits and immediately hit the waterpark!  The waterpark is amazing. There are tons of waterslides, pools, lazy rivers, a water roller coasters; literally something for everyone. They have a toddler section complete with swings & waterslides for non-swimmers called Tiko’s Watering Hole, a section called Splash Down Safari which is basically a water jungle gym with waterslides for beginner swimmers, family hot tubs and pools, and advance waterslides for older kids and adults. We stayed at Kalahari for four days and never got bored or ran out of things to do.

Plus, Kalahari is more than a waterpark.  It is a resort complete with a spa and family entertainment center. The Kalahari Family Entertainment Center is ginormous and there is so much to do! They have state-of-the-art video games and classics like ski ball & air hockey.  Plus, they have mini bowling and blacklight mini golf!  Kalahari has a full-service salon and spa but they offer packages for children and teens. My daughter loved being pampered with a fun day at the spa!

Overall this was the best birthday ever. And the amazing part is we spent the same amount of money that we would have spent on a birthday party and presents. Kalahari always has special packages and promotional packages (you can visit Kalahari’s Room Special & Packages HERE) and our package included our room, breakfast, and lunch. Plus, the room cost at Kalahari always includes waterpark passes for up to 4 people for the day you arrive and the day you leave from open to close! I find the rates to be very affordable and worth every penny! Kalahari is my favorite vacation spot, I am already planning our return trip!
