Santa Smiles - A New Mission for Your Elf on the Shelf

By Christel M. Hoydic November 24, 2015
For many years I, along with moms everywhere, have been known to go over the top with the Elf on the Shelf. From zany to crazy to silly and even naughty, our Elf has done it all. But, this year is different. Now, that my son is 8, he remembers nearly everything the Elf has done in the past. To be honest, I am out of ideas (and dare I say tired of the Elf?) so I’m looking for some new ways to spread holiday cheer.

Enter "The Santa Smiles Mission.”

Here is how it works: On the morning that your Elf arrives at the house, he will bring along a note explaining that they have been given a mission this holiday season. Your child is now in charge of spreading "Santa Smiles." Each night when the Elf flies back to the North Pole, Santa will give your Elf a new mission for your child. When your child wakes up in the morning, he/she will find the Elf in a new spot (Yes, you still have to move it!) with a new mission (Act of Kindness) to complete that day.

We’ve made it easy for you to start this tradition in your home this season with printables that include 48 different “missions” for your Elf to deliver. We’ve also includes a blank page that you can customize.
Kids will be spreading kindness this holiday season and sharing smiles all month long!
